About grigori guitchounts...

I was born in Moscow, Russia, and moved to the U.S. when I was ten years old. I am a neuroscientist and avid writer. Outside of the lab, I enjoy playing piano, painting, and running.

I did my undergraduate work in neuroscience at Boston University and spent two years as a technician in the lab of Tim Gardner at BU, working on developing new technologies for recording neural signals in behaving animals.

I started the PhD program in Neuroscience at Harvard in August of 2013, and defended my thesis in 2020. I am currently undertaking postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School.

Guitchounts is pronounced gee-chunz, with gee like geese and chunz like you just sneezed.
